William M. (Bill) Mathews passed away quietly at home on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Milton, Florida. Formerly of Jasper, Alabama and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manly L. Mathews, Sr. and Minnie Pierson Mathews, William Lipsey Legg, Sr. and Minnie McDonald Legg; Parents Manly L. Mathews, Jr. and Florence Legg Mathews Cain; sister Nancy Carol Mathews, and sister Florence Burton Mathews Maluff.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bevill Mathews; son Michael Manly Mathews (Jenny Fiore of Chicago, IL); daughter Elizabeth Mathews Money (Josh); sister Dottie Mathews Brown (Stephen); nephew Taylor Christian Barton, nephew William Gabriel Barton; niece Kellie Maluff Wyatt (Rob); stepdaughter Lindsey Myers Rhodes (Chris), stepdaughter Stevi Myers Price (Brandon); granddaughter Kennedy Grace Price; grandson Michael Brandon, Jr., grandson Luke Leslie Rhodes; granddaughter Lily Marie Rhodes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Bagdad Methodist Church, 4540 Forsyth Street, Milton, Florida 32583, with the service starting at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
