William L Mauri

William L. Mauri, 83, husband of Donna Mauri peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 26 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Waterbury on Dec. 4, 1942, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Johnson) Mauri. William resided in Meriden for many years. He moved to Florida then Alabama before returning to Connecticut.

He attended Platt High School in Meriden. William owned Mary Dee Ceramics with his mother before opening Mr. Bill's in Meriden. William was retired for many years prior to his passing.

He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Shari (Mauri) Clementel and Gary Clementel and Michelle (Mauri) Keegan and Mark Keegan; a sister, Carol Mauri (Gary Fontanella); three granddaughters, Kayla (Clementel) Verney and her husband Jamie, Shelby and Nikole Clementel; two great-grandsons, Kace and Callen Verney; and his cats and dog which he loved dearly. He's also survived by several cousins, a niece and her children.

William was a loving husband for over 63 years and a wonderful father and brother. He was an avid softball player and bowler back in his younger days. He was witty, artistic, creative, loved to watch sports, cook, garden, go to dinner, and enjoyed having a great time with family and friends. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
