William May Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perches Funeral Homes - Northeast on Dec. 23, 2025.
William "Larry" May, 81, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025.
Larry was born on August 15, 1944, and attended El Paso Tech High School. Throughout his life, he lived and worked in several places, including Santa Rosa, California, and the Dallas–Fort Worth area, before later returning to El Paso. He was highly mechanically inclined, with an ability to fix nearly anything. His ingenuity and hands-on approach led him to start a mobile auto repair business, providing on-site vehicle repairs wherever they were needed.
Building on his technical skill and curiosity, Larry went on to have a long and innovative career in the utility and telecommunications industries. He contributed to organizations including El Paso Natural Gas (EPNG), Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), J.D. Abrams, Group W Cable, Metro Mobile / Bell Atlantic, CellularOne, and AT&T, where he later retired after many years of service. He also owned and operated Sierra Electronics, a company involved in early satellite technology during the formative years of home and business access.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delma May and Zelma May, and by his beloved daughter, Tiffany May.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary May; his daughter, Shelley Bowers; his sister, Judith Morgan; his niece, Stacie Morgan; four stepchildren: Ann M. Sanders, Diane M. Kass, Anthony Ortiz, & Jana Hernandez; and his grandchildren, Miles Bowers, Travis May, Isla Bowers, & Roman May. He will be remembered by those who knew him in many different ways.
