William Mccale Obituary
He was born June 20, 1972 in Lorain and had been a life long Vermilion resident.
Bill worked as a Sheet Metal Worker for Avon Lake Sheet Metal for the past 23 years. He was also the Chief Engineer for the City of Vermilion Fire Department for 12 years before joining the Vermilion Township Fire Department.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, Vermilion and Local 33 Sheet Metal Workers. Bill was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Ohio State football and the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians/Gurdians. He was also a NASCAR enthusiast. Bill also enjoyed barbeques with friends and family, spending time with his dogs, and fixing and remodeling houses. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Stephanie (nee Stafford) McCale of Vermilion; daughter, Isabelle "Izzy" McCale of Columbus; son, Tyler McCale at home; mother, Jeanne Marie (nee Kissel) McCale of Vermilion; sister, Colleen (Charlie Grisel) McCale of Vermilion; brother, Gregory (Suzie) McCale of Grove City; and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Francis McCale.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Vermilion Township Fire Department 1907 State Rd. Vermilion, OH 44089
