William J. "Bill" McCarthy, 81 of Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
Born on June 25, 1944, in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a life defined by compassion, intellect, and quiet generosity. A dedicated personal injury attorney, Bill earned his Juris Degree and devoted his career advocating for others, especially those who needed a voice. Known for his sharp mind and dry sense of humor, he brought warmth and wit to every conversation. Beyond his professional life, Bill found joy in writing – he published two books. He found joy in writing vows and poems that reflected his deep love for people and words alike.
Bill had a special place in his heart for single mothers pursuing an education, often helping them financially without seeking recognition. His kindness extended to animals as well; he was known to rescue dogs and treat them all like family.
He is survived by his wife Norma McCarthy, and his employees who became his adopted family, Braulio Franco, Maricela Rodriguez, Norma Franco and Gustavo De La Vina who shared with him many years of love, laughter, and unwavering companionship.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. McCarthy will be cremated, and his ashes will be placed in Brecksville, Ohio.
His legacy endures in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, humor, and deep humanity.
