William McFarlin, Jr. was born on January 17, 1962, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William McFarlin, Sr. (Ermie L. McFarlin) and Mrs. Hattie Ruth (Roberts) Moore.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bob Roberts, Sr. and Rosa T. Roberts; grandparents, James and Hazel L. Brookins; uncle, Willin Bernard Roberts; three brothers, Michael A. McFarlin, Horace E. Mosley, Sr. and Micah L. Mitchell; and great-nephew, River S. Willis.

Upon graduation from Bass High School in Atlanta, GA, William enlisted in the United States Army, where he faithfully and diligently served his country for 20 years with honor and pride. Throughout his distinguished military career, he received numerous awards and commendations in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and exemplary service. In 1993, he was recognized as part of the Top Small Station in the Houston Recruiting Battalion, reflecting his commitment to excellence and mission accomplishment. Most notably, in 1995, he was named Soldier of the Year for the Houston Recruiting Battalion, a prestigious honor that highlighted his outstanding performance, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to duty. Upon completion of his military career, he received an honorable discharge, having built a legacy of integrity, discipline, and faithful service.

William transitioned from this earthly life in the early morning hours on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Grayson, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 33 years, Angela V. McFarlin; son, Detrick A. McFarlin; granddaughters, Teagan C. McFarlin and Mya A. McFarlin, (their mother, Myiesha Sellers); his loving mother, Mrs. Hattie R. Moore; mother-n-law, Ms. Olivia Moseley; two sisters, Delansha L. Howard (Sonrayshaun) and Wanda A. Harden (Terry); brother, Carlos Williams; brother-n-law, Timothy A. Harris (Conchi); great-aunt, Rosetta Mitchell; nieces, Tamara L. McFarlin (Kenya), Helena Harden, and Delansha L. Mosley; nephews, Dexter T. Faulk (Cherie), Richard L. Willis (Sierra), Joshua Harden, and Horace E. Mosley, Jr.; great-nieces, Destiny N. Faulk, LaNicia S. Parker, Laila E. Faulk, and RiLeigh S. Willis; and great-nephew, Ezekiel Ford Faulk; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A Funeral Service Honoring the Life of William will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at11:30AM at Macedonia Baptist Church 1052 Barton St NW, Conyers, GA 30012. Interment will follow at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel.
