William "Ken" McKnight, 71, passed away on October 29, 2024, after a long illness. Ken was born on January 16, 1953 in Houston, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife Cindy; sisters Jonnie Faye Shumpert and Debbie Bell; his nephews Jay Shumpert, Chad Shumpert and Corey Shumpert; many loving relatives and friends, and by his beloved dog, Darby. He was predeceased by his parents, Esterlene and Ervin McKnight, and his brother-in-law, Joel Shumpert.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1976. He was an extraordinary technician skilled in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) with numerous years of experience that began in Houston, Mississippi, at his father's business, McKnight Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Ken was always willing to pass along his HVACR knowledge to anyone who needed help. He was an avid animal lover, he enjoyed listening to blues music, hunting and fishing, drawing, and most of all visiting with his friends. Ken never met a stranger, and he was always willing to help others.
