Donald George Arnold Sr., born on September 23, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana. His journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to family and friends.
Donald’s early years were punctuated by his service in the Air Force, where he proudly defended his country. After his honorable discharge, he found the love of his life, Billie Hagood Arnold. Their bond sparked a remarkable journey together, raising six children in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and delectable aromas from Louisiana's cherished cuisine. Donald was a dedicated provider, working many years within car dealerships; however, his true legacy lies in the lasting impact he had on the lives of his children: John, Anita, Donna, Donald Jr., Marguerite, Paul, and the countless treasured moments they shared.
He was a devoted father who savored weekends spent cooking, mechanician, and cherishing his family. Each holiday, birthday, and special occasion filled his heart with joy as he celebrated surrounded by loved ones. A vibrant figure in the lives of many, Donald was blessed with a myriad of friendships that transcended age, sharing stories and creating memories that would forever warm their hearts.
In his later years, Donald's spirit remained unwavering as he attended the Family Worship Center alongside his daughter and great-grandchildren. It was a time he looked forward to until physical limitations kept him from joining in person, yet his faith and love remained strong.
Donald is survived by his beloved children: Marguerite (Edward), and Paul; generous grandchildren including Angel (Greg), Edward Jr. (Lauren), Donald (Tabbatha), Christopher, Allen, Dustin, Jackie; and 18 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy into his life. He also leaves behind his sister, Joycelyn Arnold.
Donald is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Billie Hagood Arnold; his sons John, Donald Jr., his daughters Anita and Donna; his parents, Herbert Arnold Sr. and Marguerite Flick Arnold; and his sibling, Herbert Jr.; along with his grandchild, Justin.
Though the world feels a little dimmer without Donald's light, those who knew and loved him are comforted with the knowledge that he is now completely healed, running the streets of gold, and reunited with the Lord. He will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered. As his descending began from this world into heaven his daughter said hug Jesus for me when you get to heaven.
A visitation will be held on March 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Lee Rd, Covington, LA 70435.
