William Bruce McPherson Jr.

William Bruce McPherson, Jr., age 69, of the Beaverdam Community of Chadbourn, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bruce was born on June 28, 1956, in Columbus County. He was preceded in death by his father, William Bruce McPherson, Sr.

A devoted son, father, and grandfather, Bruce treasured time spent with his family and took great pride in those he loved most. His presence, kindness, and steady support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Bruce is survived by his loving mother, Loris Hyatt McPherson of Chadbourn; his son, William Shaun McPherson and daughter-in-law, Erin Michelle McPherson of Austin, Texas; his beloved grandchildren, Ryleigh Maebelle McPherson and Caroline Maren McPherson, who brought him immeasurable joy; his sister, Rita Harper of Pittsboro; and his niece, Jamie Harper Teague of Pittsboro.

Bruce's legacy of love, quiet strength, strong work ethic, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
