J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation ServicesWilliam Frederick Minder, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, surrounded by family and in the care of the warm and kind staff at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. The family is deeply grateful for the compassion and friendship shown to Bill during his time there.
Born March 27, 1931, in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia to William and Marie (Wittman). Bill was a proud graduate of St. John the Baptist High School in Roxborough, Philadelphia, and St. Joseph’s University and Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
Bill and his family moved to Morrisville in 1967, where he resided for 59 years. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council # 3673, and was well known for bringing fun and laughter as a beloved Bingo caller at Holy Trinity Bingo on Sunday nights. He coached Little League baseball, leading the Woolf Roofing Team to championships from 1970 to 1974. He coached his daughters’ softball and basketball teams for Holy Trinity. Bill remained active in his retirement after a career as a chemist with Holland Rantos/Carter Wallace in Trenton, NJ. Bill was the founding organizer of the Senior Softball League of Lower Bucks County, where he was an all-around player, outfielder, and pitcher. He continued “coaching” from the sidelines into his 90’s.
Bill especially loved square dancing and served as president of the Rovin' Squares Camping Square Dancing Club. It was on the square dance floor where he met the love of his life, his wife Gerri. They married in 1987. An avid road tripper, Bill and Gerri visited 49 states (except Alaska) and enjoyed multiple cross-country trips in their RV. Bill really enjoyed when he was able to spend time in Florida relaxing, it didn’t matter if he was setting up the campsite or walking by the shops, he always had a smile on his face. Bill also had a lifelong fascination with space and fondly cherished his memories of attending N.A.S.A. Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine (nee McGrory) and his son, William Minder Jr. (2019). He is survived by his loving wife of the last 39 years, Gerri Minder of Morrisville, PA; his brother, Joseph Minder of Warminster, PA; his daughter Cathi Saveri her husband, Steve of Bangor, PA; his daughter, Marie Minder and her husband, Ken Anderson of Danville, CA; his daughter, Carol Evans and her husband, Tom of Stanardsville, VA; his grandson, Travis of Bangor, PA; his granddaughters, Jill Larsen-Adelsberger and her husband, Dave of Perkiomensville, PA, Jessica Minder of Ambler, PA, and Megan Minder of Reno, NV; his stepson, Joseph Martinez and his wife, Cheryl ; his step-granddaughter, Teresa Martinez Hink and her husband, Russell along with their children, Eric, Christopher, Stephen and Jenna. Bill also leaves behind four great-grandchildren (and the family is blessed to have a fifth on the way!)
Bill was known for his friendliness and warmth, making friends wherever he went. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, quick wit, his dedication to family and community, and the joy he brought into the lives of so many.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Mass will begin at 12 noon.
