Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Lafayette for William Donner "Bill" Mizelle Jr., 23, who passed away on March 28, 2010. Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Mizelle Jr., a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of Dr. William Donner Mizelle Sr. of Lafayette, LA and the former Cindy Thomas of Maracaibo, Venezuela. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette. Bill completed his early education at First Baptist Christian School, from preschool through the sixth grade. His middle school years were spent at Paul Breaux Middle School, and Bill graduated from Lafayette High School, Class of 2004. He attended LSU and was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. He was also currently attending ULL. Bill was loving, kind, handsome, funny, smart and full of life. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing at Toledo Bend, playing dominoes with his grandmother, singing, playing the piano, water skiing, snow skiing, golfing, traveling, and spending time at his Aunt Suzie's farm in Texas. In Lafayette, Bill is survived by his parents Dr. Don and Cindy Mizelle and his brother Thomas Mizelle as well as his paternal grandmother Mrs. Marlene Mizelle Domingue and his step-grandfather Mr. Malcolm Domingue. Bill is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Mr. William B. Thomas of Houston, TX. Bill will be tenderly remembered by his extended family, his aunt Linda Mizelle Kidd and her children Dr. Christi Kidd Villa and her husband Mike, Colleen Kidd Supple and her husband Jimmy, and Bailey Kidd IV, and his aunt and uncle Lauri and Danny Gilder and their children Lauren, Leanne, and Ben Gilder, all of Lafayette; his Texas family, aunt and uncle Betty and Rod Othold and their children Katie Othold Hengst and husband Tres, Maggie, and Emily Othold, and his aunt Suzie White, of Houston. Bill will be missed by his family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Mr. Chambliss "Chuck" Mizelle of Lafayette, his maternal grandmother Mrs. Barbara Thomas, and his uncle Ray White of Houston, TX. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at First Baptist Church of Lafayette on Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church Vision 71 or the Jacob Crouch Foundation in Bill's Memory. Personal condolences may be sent to the Mizelle family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
