William J. Morrissey, III., 74 of Cedar Grove, N.J. passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Born in Newark, N.J., he was raised in Belleville prior to settling in Cedar Grove 52 years ago. He was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and earned his undergraduate degree in engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, he then went on to obtain his master's degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark. An avid family man, William enjoyed spending valuable time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed.
Prior to retiring, he was a Civil Engineer and the owner/operator of WM-PE Engineering in Cedar Grove for many years.
Beloved husband of the late Eileen (Fenton) Morrissey. Loving and devoted father of William Morrissey and wife Dana, Joseph Morrissey and wife Ellen, Kevin Morrissey and wife Meghan and Ashley Robertson and husband Thistleton. Cherished grandfather of Natalie, Ryan, Charlotte, Emilie, Joseph, Brendan and Theo. Adored brother of Sr. June Morrissey.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2 - 6 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Monday, March 25, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 339 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N. J. 07009. Cremation will be private. Memories and condolences may kindly be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William may be made to the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad, 651 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009, would greatly be appreciated.
