William Charles "Hollywood or James" Mourning

William C. Mourning, known by family and friends as Hollywood or James, was born April 27, 1946, to the late Mattie Swift Mourning & John Mourning, Sr., in NC. He entered into eternal rest on December 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

William graduated from P. S. Jones HS in Washington, NC. He moved to Virginia at an early age, where he met the love of his life 42 years ago. He worked as a lead laborer at W. F. McGann for many years. He was the life of the party. He enjoyed dancing, old school music, and good times with family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Mourning, Jr; sister, Vera Jones; and his stepson, Preston Bandy, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Elizabeth Mourning; two children, Gregory Randolf of NC and Artika Mourning Gibbs (Bryon) Chesapeake; four stepchildren, Debra Waltston, Alphonso Bandy, Sabrina Riddick and Pynesia Bandy all of from Norfolk; sisters, Peggy Hardy of NY and Patricia Mann of NC; two brothers, George Mourning & Irving Mourning; four sisters-in-law, Kalsie, Alberta (rober), Emma, Brenda; one brother-in-law, George (Elaine), a host of grand, great grand, two great grand and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
