William R. Muncy, 83 of Springfield passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at Mill Creek.

Bill was born October 9, 1942 in Pawnee, the son of Chester and Irma Moose Muncy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Marilyn Franklin.

He married Janet Gregurich on June 3, 1961.

He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years as a rural mail carrier. Bill loved all sports, the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini. He loved to travel especially to Colorado, the Carolinas and Tennessee. His greatest joy was being a grandfather and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and dance. He was a member of Cherry Hills Church.

Surviving are his loving wife, Janet; devoted daughter, Gina (Scott) Mink; precious grandchildren, Grant Michael and Logan Elizabeth; one sister, Carol Blazis; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10am till time of memorial service at 11am, Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Cherry Hill Church, 2125 Woodside Rd, Springfield with Pastor Steve Patzia and Pastor Brian Schwarberg.

Memorials may be made to Cherry Hills Mission Fund or Pawnee Food Pantry.
