William Naragon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes-Hoven Chapel - Buchanan on Feb. 25, 2025.
William "Bill" H. Naragon, 76, of Buchanan, MI died on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Corewell Health and Rehabilitation Center, Stevensville, MI. Bill was born on November 17, 1948, to Robert F. "Bob" and Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Smith) Naragon, in Buchanan, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Peggy Naragon, and brother, Robert Clark Naragon.
Surviving are his son, William Paul (Cheryl) Naragon of Indianapolis, IN; stepsons, David (Kimberly) McMenamin of Rochester, IN, and Craig (Vienna) McMenamin of Buchanan, MI; brother, E. Paul Naragon of Jenison, MI; sister-in-law, Maxine Posey Naragon of Berrien Springs, MI; three grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from Buchanan High School in January 1968, and was drafted into the Army in the summer of 1968, and did a tour in Vietnam from 1969-70. Bill was a lifelong resident of Buchanan, working at Simplicity Pattern Co., Falo Auto Parts, and finally RPS Imaging, retiring from there in 2011 after 33 years of service. Bill enjoyed his Harley, riding as often as he could and as far as he could. Being an outdoorsman, he enjoyed time on his air boat and many carp shoot throughout Michigan. Always willing to go the extra mile to help out friends and family are trade marks that he leaves behind. He never shied away from letting you know how he felt about any subject or anything so you always knew where he stood on various things in life. Bill was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 51, Buchanan, MI, and their American Legion Riders motorcycle group traveling to Legion Posts across the area to honor fallen comrads.
Cremation has taken place. The family will host a celebration of Bill's life later this spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 51, or to a charity of ones choice.
