In Loving Memory of Bill Nevin.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William Guy Nevin, aged 86, a cherished husband, father and friend. Surrounded by the love of his family, he transitioned in peace on November 5, 2023.

Bill was born on February 22, 1937 to Guy Nevin and Genevieve Callantine in Bozeman, MT.  He was the oldest of 4 children.  He lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a beacon of kindness, a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration to those around him.

He joined the US Army in 1954 and soon found that he loved the friendships, solid meals, and the engineering battalion, building bridges and running heavy equipment.  After separating from the Army he opened Nevin’s House of Glass, which became a staple business in Livingston, even to this day.  Bill was known for his fun-loving nature and kindness. In his early years he loved the rodeo life and became a great rodeo announcer. He enjoyed camping with his young family and teasing all potential boyfriends of his 3 daughters.

Bill came out of the Army and married his first wife, Martha Kerby, with whom he shared four children. They shared many memories as a family prior to their separation in the mid 80's.  Bill found love a second time with wife Sandra Swandal, his companion for 30 years. Sandra preceded him in death, leaving behind a void that Bill carried with grace and courage until his last moments.

A devoted father, Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom and strength for his children, Denise Nevin, Stacey (Ed) Boucher, Kelly (Scott) Ackerman, and Guy Nevin; and stepchildren, Cindy Christenson, Craig (Kari) Swandal, Dana (James) McNamara, and Jason (Wendy) Swandal, and grandchildren and great grandchildren, too many to name. They were the lights of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and milestones.  Bill is further survived by two sisters:  Bonnie Dahl and Linda Tang; his former spouse, Martha Fossum as well as several nieces and nephews.

He loved to dance, play golf and travel the country. He and his wife Sandra even bought a retirement home on a golf course in Arizona so they could enjoy parties with their friends and golf.  His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Along with his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bob Nevin and granddaughter, Alyson Myrstol.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd at Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston.  A Celebration of Bill's life will immediately follow at the American Legion Post No. 23 in Livingston.
