John Nevin, age 59, passed away suddenly at his home in Northeast Philly on February 2, 2026. Son of the late Thomas and Helen (nee Starkey). Beloved brother of Carol Smith. Also survived by two brothers Thomas and James Nevin. Loving uncle of Jennifer Bullis and Valerie Pickel. John is also survived by two dear friends, his "adopted daughter" Carolyn Colajezzi and his co-worker John Ravenstal. Both were very supportive of John over the years and he to them.
John was a professional carpet installer which took a toll on his body over the years. John loved to play pool with his friends and for a number of years belonged to a bar league. He also was an avid fan of the Phillies.
John had expressed that he didn't want any fuss when he died and that he wanted to be cremated. But his family wants to acknowledge his life and the impact that he had on other people. So, this Saturday February 7, 2026, anyone who knew John is invited to share their stories with his family and other friends. All are invited from 10:00am to 11:30am at King Funeral Service, 209 N. Newtown Street Road, (route 252), Newtown Square, PA 19073. Funeral Service at 11:30am.
