William Allen Newton

William 'Billy' Allen Newton, 67, of Falmouth, MA, died on January 6, 2026. He was born in Hollywood, FL on May 26, 1958, to William E. and Jeanne Newton of Falmouth, MA.

Billy graduated Upper Cape Vocational in 1976 where he studied electrical. He went on to own his own company, Newton Electric. He joined the Fire Department in 1988 and retired after 29 years of service. Billy went on to open his own boat hauling company, Newton and Son Boat Transport. He enjoyed boating, vacationing in the Caribbean and his most recent trip to Alaska and spending time with his friends.

Billy will be remembered for his kindness and compassion which he flourished among everyone who he encountered. Past Exalted Ruler of the Falmouth Elks Lodge, member of The Weary Travelers Club and the Eagles Lodge.

Billy is survived by his wife of 39 years Shardell Newton (Dufour), of Falmouth, MA, his son Matthew Newton of Charlotte, NC, his parents William and Jeanne of Falmouth, MA, his brothers Donald Newton and his wife Kiva of Port Washington, NY, David Newton and his wife Linda of Cotuit, MA, his nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Bennett, Thea, Ryan, Lauren and Jack Newton and Tommy Tully, his brother-in-law Dennis Dufour and his wife Mara of Boca Raton, FL and his godchildren Melissa Kelley of Falmouth, MA and Bennett Newton of Port Washington, NY.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25th from 1 – 3 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 3 p.m. at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, MA.
