Bill was one of the people you meet and feel like you new him a lifetime. My sister-in-law Angie became friends with Bill in North Carolina. On one of her trips home to stay at our house she asked if she could bring a friend with her. His brother was here in Lancaster, Pa and he wanted to come and see him. We opened our home to Bill for a weekend and I loved every minute. We would sit and have coffee and just talk about so many things. My children enjoyed having him at our house and we looked forward to the two other visits when Bill made it up to PA to visit. Bill and I also called each other from time to time to catch up and I always loved that this man in his 90´s would FaceTime! He was truly a special guy and you were so lucky to have him as your father and grandfather. I am so glad that I got to know him and will truly miss his witty spirit and good conversation. He will always be cherished in our family.
Fondly,
Nellie, Michael, Alexis and Anthony Acevedo

My heart breaks for Bill´s family. I met Bill in 2016, I was a transplant from PA. When we met he said "you´re not from here, are you?."
Turns out we had a lot in common, I am from PA, Bill´s wife Loretta was from my home town of Bethlemem, we both lived in Easton, and so much more. We became great friends, met for dinner, movies, took trips to PA to visit his brother George and see my family, to Asheville and so much more. He showed me true southern hospitality, introduced me to his family, making me feel welcome. He was a gentleman, a scholar, a kind and gentle heart, I will miss him!
