William Owen Nichols, 85, of Waterflow, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026.
A devoted Catholic, William lived a life rooted in faith, guided by prayer, and strengthened by trust in God's plan. The Church was a constant source of comfort. He was an active member of The Knights of Columbus. William was bestowed with the highest ranking degree as a 4th degree knight. Also known as, "The Patriotic Degree", for his love of his country, and his dedication to promote responsible citizenship through the lens of Catholic faith.
William found deep joy in the outdoors. A skilled woodworker, William took pride in crafting pieces that were both beautiful and meaningful-many of which will remain treasured by family and friends. An avid traveler, William embraced new places, always eager to share stories and experiences with those he loved.
Above all, William was devoted to family and friends. His life was marked by generosity, laughter, and a steady presence that others could depend on. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and enduring memories.
William is survived by his children Chris Nichols(Cindy Hanes), Ray Nichols(Juanita), Paul Nichols and Cruzan Dobbs; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterflow, New Mexico on February 14. Rosary at 9:30 am with mass proceeding at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
