William Norris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Loflin Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 10, 2026.
William Charles Norris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with his beloved Savior, Jesus on March 8, 2026, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He was 70 years old, having been born on March 24, 1955, in Roberson County, North Carolina.

Charles led a life marked by hard work, entrepreneurship, and a generous spirit. As the owner and operator of multiple businesses throughout his lifetime, including a successful career as a businessman, he was known for his determination and ability to follow his own path. Charles owned several rental properties and was often referred to as a "jack of all trades" and a "MacGyver," revered for his unparalleled skill in fixing anything that came his way, and he never stopped until the job was done right.

His passions extended beyond his work. Charles delighted in spending time at the beach, searching for shells sharks' teeth, fishing, and every Friday, he and his wife Dahlia would "get away" from Asheboro. He had an uncanny knack for finding bargains and took great pleasure in the art of negotiation. Known for his unwavering hospitality, kindness, and his heart that was bigger than Randolph County, Charles never met a stranger and cherished putting others' needs ahead of his own.

In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, Charles was an active member of his community. He found joy supporting the Gray's Chapel Lions Club.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Elizabeth Suggs Norris, and siblings Betty Lou Duncan, Annie Ruth Edwards, Shirley Mae Norris, Harold Dean Norris, Shelby Jean McPhail, Mary Frances Stewart, Jimmy Ray Norris, Paul Ronnie Norris, and Bobby Willie Norris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dahlia; his blended families comprising 12 children and 24 grandchildren; four siblings; nieces and nephews; his cherished chow-chow, Mikey; and numerous friends whom he regarded as family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Asheboro Friends Meeting from 1:00 to 2:45 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Daniel Oldham and Pastor Rick Byerly. Committal will take place at Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral.

Memorials may be made to Asheboro Friends Meeting at the link below.

Charles will be remembered for his big heart, hard work ethic, and the warmth he spread to everyone he met. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur is honored to assist the family of Mr. Charles Norris.
