WILLIAM M. MEEKEN JR.

MEEKEN, William M.Jr. Age 89, of East Falmouth, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully, on February 16, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Meeken; and son of the late William Sr. and Gertrude Meeken. William graduated with the Class of '55 from Milton High School. There, he was an exceptional athlete. He was captain of both the football and basketball teams, the Whiz Kids. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, the USS Antietam. William worked as a firefighter for the town of Milton for 26 years. He also worked for C.B. Bosworth Co. in Milton and Condon Oil Co., in Randolph, for many years. After raising his five children with his wife, Theresa, he retired to Cape Cod. Here, he loved to take his boat out to Washburn Island with Theresa. He also loved fishing, gardening, and watching sports, especially the New England Patriots. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him. In addition to his loving wife, Theresa, William is survived by five children, William M. Meeken and partner, Cheryl O'Neil of Woonsocket, RI, Sandra J. Yochum and husband, Joseph of Mashpee, Theresa A. O'Connor and husband, Kevin of Plymouth, David J. Meeken and wife, Mary of Marshfield, Jean M. Fraser and husband, John of East Falmouth; his sister, Virginia Sciezko; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Theresa, Casandra, Daniel, Siobhan, Kyle, Alexandra and Colin; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, George Meeken, Robert Meeken and Ruth Swett. A Visitation will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street, FALMOUTH, MA, on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
