William B. Oliver, 95, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away June 16, 2023. He was born April 2, 1928 in Amarillo, TX, to Bowman B and Lottie (Lay) Oliver of Nashville, Arkansas.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents,and brother Bobby Oliver.
Survivors include his wife Doris Helen (Valentine) Oliver of 70 years; four daughters Lillian Letson, Janetta Green, Mae Charron and J.K. Grandchildren; Brent Green, Stephen Green, Kealeb Rogers, Abigail Thomas, and Kolton Thomas. Great grandchildren; Cayden Green, Veyda Green, and Nerrissa Ann. Son-in-laws; Dwayne Green, and Gary Letson.
Survivors include; Sister, Gwen Briley of Arizona, and her children; David, Jerry, Kenny, and Terry Brown and their children and great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Niece, Holly Davenport of Houston, Texas, daughter of Bobby Oliver. With many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill was a United States Veteran, and served in the Army as an M.P. in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of the Jessieville Church of Christ and led singing for many years. One of his favorite songs was "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". He was passionate about the Lord's Church. His hobbies included Music, he belonged to the barber shop chorus, the Chanticleers. He retired from Western Electric of Houston, Texas in 1984. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and worked with the Bear Creek Chapter in Houston. Another passion was working with the deaf, he helped provide TTY's at no cost to the deaf through his Houston Chapter. He enjoyed hunting in New Mexico as a teenager. He was a farmer at Nashville, Arkansas, before moving to Hot Springs Village.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the charity of your choice, or a family in need.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Caruth Village Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Wednesday, June 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Biggs Chapel Cemetery (Academy) in Nathan, Arkansas.
