William “Billy” Franklin Parrish, 71, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home.

He was born on February 9, 1954, in Staunton, to the late William Lucian and Doris Evonne Craig Parrish.

For forty-three years, Billy proudly worked as a truck driver who used the CB handle “Round Man” - a career he truly loved. The open road became his second home, and his dedication to the trucking industry left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His passion for trucking ran so deep that it inspired his daughter, Melissa, to follow in his footsteps and enter the trucking business herself.

Family was always at the center of Billy’s life. He treasured countless family vacations out West, where he delighted in the breathtaking beauty of the Grand Tetons and the Rocky Mountains, and especially enjoyed driving the scenic Beartooth Highway.

Billy also had a lifelong fascination with trains, particularly historic steam engines. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring tractors, with a special fondness for Molines. Many weekends found him at auctions, where he took great pleasure in the thrill of the hunt.

He is survived by his daughters Melissa Kay Parrish Bosserman and her husband, Christopher and Kimberly Dawn Parrish Barker and her husband, William; his grandchildren, Kayla Grant, William Mason, and Brianna Dean, and a special granddaughter, Tehya Dean; his honorary son, Jacob Robertson; his sister, Teresa Karen Parrish Tisdale and her husband, Jerry; and his very special aunt, Peggy "Cottie" Snyder.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Claudette Jacobs Parrish, and his brother, Garry David Parrish.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Reverend Russell Heinrich officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service.
