Obituary of William J. Pawelczyk Jr.

April 1, 1946 – August 13, 2025

William John Pawelczyk Jr. Age 79 of Belleville.

With love in our hearts and sadness in our souls, we announce the passing of William "Bill" John Pawelczyk Jr., of Belleville, Michigan, who left us peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the age of 79. Bill's life was one of devotion - to his family, his friends, his work, and the many projects that kept his creative spirit alive.

Born on April 1, 1946, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Bill was the beloved son of the late William John Pawelczyk Sr. and Agnes Alma (Provost) Pawelczyk. On November 7, 1964, he married the love of his life, Frances (Sledge) Pawelczyk, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories, raising three children: Bill (Michele), David (Janet), and Jeannette (Joe).

He was the proud grandfather of Joseph (Krissy), Trinity (John), Nick (Jordan), Angelo, Faith, Jeremy, Sky (Adrian), Joey, and Jonathon, and his legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Caidyn, Emily, Harley, Raelynn, and Eli. Bill is also survived by his sister Dolores, and was preceded in death by his sisters Sally and Rita.

Bill dedicated over three decades to Ford Motor Company, working from 1969 until his retirement in 2001. Known for his skill and ingenuity, he had a passion for working on automobiles, woodcrafting, and finding inventive solutions to any problem - earning him the affectionate nickname "the poor man's MacGyver."

He will be deeply missed, remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, and the way he could fix almost anything with a few tools and a lot of determination. In keeping with his wishes, Bill will be cremated and no formal service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Bill's memory.
