William Peyton Obituary

William Michael "Mike" Peyton, age 88, passed away on September 19, 2025.

Mike lived a full and vibrant life, marked by many accomplishments, adventures, and cherished memories. He worked for many years with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and was proud of the woodworking and carvings he created throughout his lifetime.

An avid outdoorsman, Mike found great joy in fishing of all kinds. He loved sharing this passion with family and friends, introducing many to the sport. His love of fishing led him on countless trips, including several memorable journeys to Cuba. In addition, he enjoyed crafting primitive bows, arrows, and accessories, and after retirement, he traveled across the United States teaching bow-making classes and sharing his skills with others.

Mike is survived by his son, Tony (Cheryl Cue) Peyton; his five beloved grandchildren, Nicole Jarvis, Courtney Lahrs, Brigette Peyton-Getz, Matthew Peyton, and Kelsey Carpenter; and fourteen great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lavonne Webber and Ione Abkes; and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Peyton.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice (Back) Peyton; his children, Jeff Peyton and Lisa Marie; and his brother, Robert Peyton.

I´d like to send my condolences to mikes family, I´ve enjoyed being his neighbor for 30 years and listening to his stories. One of my favorites was his story about building the house and hauling in the dirt. Melissa Regenold.
