William N. Piazza, 86, of Jamestown, died Thursday December 18, 2025, in UPMC Chautauqua.
A native of Jamestown, he was born November 24, 1939, a son of the late Carl and Allene Faulkner Piazza.
Following graduation from Jamestown High School in 1957, he served in the US Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1963. While stationed at Fort Sam Houston, he met the love of his life, Kathryn Fuller, whom he married September 21, 1958.
He was a talented tool and die engineer and prior to his retirement he was employed by Universal Tooling utilizing computer aided design as a tool designer. He was also a gifted gunsmith.
Bill never met a stranger that wasn't a friend. He was a smart man of many talents who enjoyed hunting, fishing, technology, and playing multiple instruments. He was a proud and patriotic American who was a member of both the Herman Kent Post 777, (serving as adjutant for many years) and Henry Mosher Post 638 American Legion. In addition, he provided military honors as part of the color guards for both posts as well as the Chautauqua County Color Guard.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Kathryn Piazza; two children, Karen Buck of Jamestown and Patrick (Katrina) Piazza of Queens, NY; grandchildren, Bethany Buck, Lindsey (Peter) Johnson, Abbey (James) Piazza, Steven Piazza, Mark Piazza, Aidan Piazza and Ayla Piazza and four great grandchildren Allyson Buck, Lillian Stormont, Julia Stormont and Henry Johnson. Bill loved his family immensely and left his qualities of love, kindness and generosity to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Piazza and two brothers Carl and Warren Piazza.
The funeral will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
