William Charles "Bill" Pollock
William Charles Pollock, 85, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in
Brevard, North Carolina.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Pollock and Eleanor Katherine Blood Pollock.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jacquelyn Holtgrieve Pollock; daughter Pam (Gary) Davis; and son John (Sharon) Pollock. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Coley (Halle) Davis, Chris (Kelly) Davis, Paige (Chad) Bowling, and Mallory Pollock; and his step-grandchildren, Brooklyn McDonald and Bryson Royal, who all were a cherished part of his life. He was further blessed with great-granddaughters Kenley and Collins Davis, and Penny Davis.
Bill was born in
St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri, where he graduated from Webster Groves High School before attending and graduating from DePauw University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge after six months of active duty and six years in the reserves.
He was part-owner of a welding supply distributorship and later sold group health insurance. Throughout his life, Bill lived in Webster Groves, Missouri; Neenah, Wisconsin; West Palm Beach and Fort Myers, Florida; and
Brevard, North Carolina.
A lifelong Rotarian and member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Bill was deeply committed to service and community leadership. He was instrumental in founding the Fort Myers Rotary South Scholar Athlete Program and served for over 35 years as President of the Board for the City of Palms Classic, a premier high school boys' basketball tournament held each December in Fort Myers. Through his leadership and encouragement, he had a lasting and positive impact on countless young athletes.
An accomplished and competitive athlete himself, Bill played center field in baseball, guard in basketball, and also enjoyed golf and tennis. He was inducted into both the Webster Groves High School Sports Hall of Fame and the City of Palms Classic Hall of Fame.
Above all, Bill was a devout Christian whose faith guided his life. He brought humor, joy, kindness, encouragement, and integrity to every relationship. His steady presence and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His devoted family will hold a private service to celebrate and cherish his life.
