William E. (Bull) Potts, 89, of Hensley went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 1, 2026. Born October 13, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bull was retired from Lufin Industries. Bull was a hard worker and provided for his family.
He started dirt track racing in the 1960’s which was always a lot of stories that he told about racing. Bull loved planting gardens, fishing, hunting, and doing things outside or piddling in his shop all the way up to the end. Rather he was telling stories about he and Ricky riding four-wheelers, putting out trail cameras, deer hunting stories or how he caught the most or biggest fish, you felt as if you were there. He was a member of the H&L Hunting Club and Bass Hole Fishing Club.
Left to cherish those memories are his wife of 70 years Ruth Potts; son Ricky Potts and wife Gayle of Hensley; daughter Bonnie Stratton and husband Jerry of Sheridan; three sisters; 9 grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren as well as a host of friends and other family.
Preceding him in death are his parents; one daughter, Kathy and two sons, Gene and Gary Potts.
Visitation will be held Thursday February 5, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Buie and Cole Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral services will be Friday February 6, 2025 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Buie and Cole Funeral Home in Sheridan with Brother Feral West officiating.
Serving as Pallbearers are Richard Chumley, Kenneth Chumley, Don Chapman, Tommy Banks, Brad Williams, and Ricky Davis.
