William Neal Powell, 55, set sail for his final adventure on August 14, 2025, leaving the shores of Moss Point, Mississippi, with the same grace and humor with which he lived. Born on June 30, 1970, in Berea, Kentucky, Neal made a memorable entrance as one of the last babies delivered at Berea Hospital, setting the stage for a lifetime of unforgettable stories.
His life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the joy found in everyday moments. Raised in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, he cultivated a deep love for the outdoors, often found enjoying a cup of coffee under the open sky or wandering through a familiar pathway. Whether he realized it or not, he had a natural gift for brightening any room and bringing joy to those around him. His humor was effortless, and his laughter contagious, making him a true comedian at heart. His family fondly remembers his ability to have everyone belly laughing until the very end.
His career was more than just a job; it was an adventure. Neal embraced opportunities that allowed him to discover new talents and collect fantastic stories. He was a master storyteller, vividly recounting tales from his teenage years and professional life with excitement and charm, captivating his listeners every time.
Neal’s family will remember this day to celebrate his life, smiles, and the unforgettable spirit of a fun-loving and easy-going man who touched their hearts deeply.
He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he brightened.
