OAKVILLE, CT
William J. Radzunas Jr.
"Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather"
William J. Radzunas, Jr., 84, of Oakville, entered into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Claudette (Nadeau) Radzunas of sixty-six years.
Bill was born in Waterbury on August 12, 1938, the son of William J. Sr. and Anna C. (Ivanauskas) Radzunas. Having grown up in Waterbury, Bill attended Waterbury public schools and graduated from Kaynor Tech High School in this first graduating class. Wanting to serve his country, Bill joined the United States Navy until his honorable discharge. For over 40 faithful years, Bill worked as a printer for the Waterbury Republican American Newspaper until his retirement. Bill was a strong man of faith, and loved being involved with his church with his wife Claudette by his side. Bill was also a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. Above everything else, Bill loved being a family man and raising his nine children with his wife, and seeing his family grow into grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Claudette, of Oakville, William leaves behind to cherish his memory his nine children, Michael Radzunas of Poway, CA, William "Bill" Radzunas and his wife Carol of Meriden, Jodi Grohoski and her late husband Eric, of Oakville, Jeffrey Radzunas and his wife Michele of Poway, CA, Gregory Radzunas and his wife Wendy of Oakville, Daniel Radzunas and his wife Shannon of Lancaster, SC, Rachel Sinopoli and her husband Vincent of Southbury, Matthew Radzunas of Terryville, and Maryanne Thompson and her husband Donald of Wolcott. He also leaves behind his eighteen loving grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, 1:30 p.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
