William Darrell "Bill" Rambo, born on May 5, 1931 peacefully departed this life on August 18, 2024. His journey on earth weaved a profound tapestry of service, faith, and commitment that touched lives throughout his remarkable years.

Raised in a loving community that instilled strong values, Bill felt the call to ministry early in his life. He was baptized in1953 and began his journey as a preacher just three years later, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his faith and community. He was ordained by Palm St. Missionary Baptist Church in 1959 and went on to pastor churches in Humnoke, North Little Rock, and England, Arkansas. The congregations he led, included Rowe’s Chapel, North Hills, Perry's Chapel, and Southside Baptist. He held a special place in his heart, and cultivated enduring friendships with those he served for over 40 years as the teacher of the Ambassador Class. Bill’s love for his ministry was evident in the deep connections he formed, viewing the congregations as members of his family.

In addition to his spiritual endeavors, Bill displayed courage and dedication by serving in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as part of the 1st Cavalry, 5th Regiment, Company C. Following discharge from the Army, he served four more years in the National Guard. His service remained a source of pride throughout his life, cherished by attending reunions with fellow veterans. Always proud to wear his Korean Veteran Cap adorned with the Combat Infantryman Badge, he was also a devoted member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

A proud 32 Degree Mason, Bill was affiliated with Big Rock Lodge #633, where he made lifelong friends and enjoyed the fellowship that came with Masonic traditions.

Beyond his commitments to faith and service, Bill found joy in the simpler pleasures of life, such as his treasured trips to Iowa for pheasant and quail hunting. He delighted in watching the dogs work the birds, relishing the time spent with friends and the thrill of the hunt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carolyn Lasater Rambo; son, Roger Dale Rambo and sister, Frances (Joe) Jackson.

Survivors include: two sons, Pete (Teressa) Rambo of Scott, AR and James (Amanda) Rambo of Jacksonville, AR; grandchildren: Heather Harding (Russ) of Empire, AL, Amanda Sckrohod (Alexandre) of Thompson Station, TN, Lindsey Spano of Warrior, AL, Kainna Lea Rambo Boyce (Zach) of Dallas, TX, Aaron Wade Rambo, US Army, Jeremy (Tina) Hudson of Donaldson, AR, Chad (Valeri) Hudson of Fayetteville, AR, Eric (Mindy) Hudson of Beebe, AR, eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille (Jim) Neal; several nephews, nieces, and members of Northview Baptist Church.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105; or to ELM International Ministries, P.O. 297, Magnolia, AR 71754.
