William "Bill" Herbert Rambo, III, of Greenwood, husband of Barbara Rowe Rambo, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home.
Born in Greenwood, SC, he was a son of William "Bill" Herbert Rambo, Jr. and the late Linnie Jean Cullens Rambo.
Bill graduated from Greenwood High School and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina. He worked as a computer analyst and programmer at Self Regional Healthcare until his retirement. He was immensely proud of his work and the impact it had on the medical field. Bill was also a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He loved attending air shows and was especially fond of watching the performances of the Thunderbirds. He was an active member of Rehoboth Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. Additionally, he was a Mason with the Mathews Lodge #358. Bill found solace in nature and enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He loved all animals, but his beloved dogs were like family. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his father, William "Bill" Herbert Rambo, Jr.; son, John Clements (Jackie); brothers, Joseph Rambo and Charles Rambo (Sally); sister, Lynn Guida (Ron); sister in law, Ysabel Garland; grandchildren, Addison Allen and Micheal Clements; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held before the service at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greenwood at https://www.gwdhumanesociety.org/save-a-life or to PAWS Animal Wildlife Sanctuary at https://www.pawssc.org/donate.
