William J. Ramos

William J. Ramos, 48, of Vernon, CT, loving husband of eight years to Lisa (Blocklin) Ramos, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Harford Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of William Ramos of Vernon and the late Barbara (Mede) Ramos, he lived in Brooklyn, NY and East Hartford before moving to Vernon over 29 years ago. He was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1985. He was a former correctional officer with the State of Connecticut for 15 years. Will was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all types of sporting events. He loved music, going to concerts, and spending time at the beach with his wife. In addition to his wife and his father, Will is survived by his beloved children, William Ramos of Glastonbury, and his 8 month old twins, Scarlett and Everett Ramos of Vernon; his brother, Jeffrey Ramos and his wife Darleen of Colchester; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen and Mary K. Blocklin of South Windsor; his sister-in-law, Michelle Blocklin of Somerville, MA; and many extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. with prayers at 2 p.m. and on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 4 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
