William Reilly Obituary

William F. "Bill" Reilly
William "Bill" Francis Reilly, 78, of Branford, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Bill entered this world on September 9, 1947, in New Haven, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Shanley Reilly.
Bill was a proud member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Local 1 of Connecticut. He began his career as a bricklayer at just 17 years old and dedicated 40 years to the trade before his retirement. Bill took immense pride in his work and in providing for his family. In retirement, he loved spending time by the water-walking the beach, collecting seashells, and enjoying time with his loyal companion, his dog, Sasha. Sundays became his favorite day of the week, spent savoring family dinners and preparing his beloved homemade Sunday sauce.
Bill was married to his beloved wife, Etta Migliozzi Reilly for 47 years, until her passing in 2014. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Reilly Mentillo; his son, William Francis Reilly, Jr.; brothers, Joseph and Thomas Reilly; and sister, Marilyn Esposito.
Bill is survived by his sons, Joseph Reilly and Michael Reilly; his daughter-in-law and goddaughter, Christine Pepe Reilly; his eleven grandchildren; his cherished German Shepherd, Sasha; sisters, Elizabeth Pasquale, Margaret Pesticci and Sharron Reilly; and brothers, Robert Reilly and Dennis Reilly, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bill was deeply cared for by his devoted caregivers, whose kindness, compassion, and attention meant so much to him and his family. Bill will be remembered for his storytelling, his quick wit and sense of humor, his devotion to his family, his love for Sasha, and his hardworking nature.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave., Hamden. Burial will be private. Services are in the care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. To send a condolence to the family, please see obituary at www.beecherandbennett.com.

Rest in peace Bill , thank you for excepting & loving me & my daughters as your family & raising my girls equally as your 11 grandchildren they made 13 we used to say :) You´d be so proud of Kate , you used to play around & tease her telling her she´s gonna be the first one in prison because she would snitch on her brothers & sister all the time .lol but she helps people in addictions & Marcella is an amazing wife & mom of two children. Thank you for all the memories you & Etta so selflessly gave to us ! Fly high with Etta , Beth & Bill jr take care of them in heaven as you did in life ! You´d were a strong influence in my children´s lives & I´ll forever be grateful
