William Arthur Rice

William Arthur Rice, known affectionately as Arthur to his friends and family, was called to his heavenly home on December 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 31, 1949 in Giles County, Virginia, Arthur lived a life marked by faith, love for his family, and dedication to his work. He passed away peacefully in Dublin, Virginia, surrounded by the love of his family.

Arthur is survived by his sons, Rodney Rice and his wife Brittany, Curtis Rice and his wife Ronda, David Rice and his wife Angie; his daughter, Lisa Ferrell; his grandchildren, Kevin Ferrell, Kristen Ferrell, Devin Rice, Cody Rice, Tyler Rice, Kait Rice, Katrina Ferrell, and Kyle Ferrell; and his great-grandchildren, Westen Edwards, Wyatt Ferrell, River Ferrell, Rielynn Edwards, Braxton Edwards, and Kinsley Edwards. He also leaves behind his sisters, Gloria Martin and her husband David, and Loretta Rice, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Mason Rice and Betsy Ross Austin Rice; and his brother, Tony Ray Rice.

Arthur's professional life was spent at the Lynchburg Foundry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. A devout Christian, Arthur's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a dedicated member of the New Life Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Christiansburg, Virginia. His Christian-Apostolic beliefs shaped every aspect of his life, and he was a true testament to his faith through his actions and words. He lived a life full of grace, always ready to share the love of God with everyone he met. Arthur's interests included fishing, working on cars, and spending time with his family.

We take solace in the words of Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." As we mourn the loss of William Arthur Rice, we find comfort in our memories of him and in the promise of eternal life. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the New Life Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Christiansburg, Virginia. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM in the New Life Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor Leroy Peters officiating.
