William C. Roberts Sr

On February 25, 2025, at the age of 85, William "Billy" Roberts, Sr. was welcomed with open arms by his son and the family members who passed before him.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved visiting local coffee shops and catching up with his buddies.
Billy was as a tractor-trailer driver for nearly 50 years. He began his career with the family business, Roberts Motor Express, founded by his parents, Jake and Helen Roberts, with terminals in Albany, Catskill, Kingston, Newburgh, and New York City. After their passing, Billy and his siblings-Catherine (Kate), Sonny, and Sally-continued to run the business. In later years, he drove for St. Johnsbury Trucking Company until his retirement.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage; his daughter, Bonnie (Gary); daughter-in-law, Carol; and grandchildren, Leanna, Brennan, Dylan, and Amy. He was predeceased by his son, Bill; daughter, Beverly; parents, Jacob and Helen; brother, Sonny; and sisters, Sally and Kate.
Services are under the care of W.C. Brady Funeral Home in Coxsackie, NY. A visitation will be held on March 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Coxsackie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society in Hudson, NY.
