Timothy James Lawrence Nelson, known affectionately as Tim, Timmy, Timbo Slice, or Toot to his friends and family, left us on August 15, 2025. Born on January 28, 1998, in Coxsackie, NY, Tim's infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality were destined to leave an indelible mark on the world. He took his final bow in Austin, Texas, after health challenges from diabetes that ultimately led to his untimely departure at the age of 27. Tim was the beloved son of Stephen and Stacey (Alverson) Nelson, and younger brother to Jordan. He was the cherished grandson of Timothy L. Jackson and the late Gail (Madlinger) Jackson, as well as the late James H. Alverson, Bertell Nelson, and Dona J. (Dodds) Nelson. His aunts, uncles, and cousins will miss his impromptu performances and his ability to turn any gathering into a joyous event. Tim's education at Coxsackie-Athens CSD laid the foundation for his future success as a salesman, where he convinced the world one client at a time that laughter was indeed the best deal in town. Music was Tim's first love, with singing and beatboxing being his go-to acts. When he was a teenager he could often be found performing for friends and family. There are many videos of him doing just that! Describing Tim as funny, friendly, and spirited is an understatement. He was the guy who could light up a room just by walking into it, the one whose humor was as infectious as his enthusiasm for life. In the words of the great Robin Williams, "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it." Tim not only kept his spark but turned it into a bonfire that warmed the hearts of all who knew him. Tim's life was a series of punchlines, witty comebacks, and belly laughs. He left the world the same way he lived in it-with a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. While we mourn the loss of such a bright soul, we take comfort in knowing that heaven has gained one heck of an entertainer. As we bid farewell to Timothy James Lawrence Nelson, let's remember him not with tears but with laughter, for that is how he would have wanted it. May his jokes, songs, and laughter continue to echo in our memories, and may his spirit forever remind us to live life to the fullest. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday September 13 from 2-4 pm at the W.C. Brady's Sons Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY.
