June 19, 1947 - September 2, 2025
Donna Kay Nelson, 78, of Davenport, IA, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis East Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Friday. Entombment will take place in Oakdale Cemetery Davenport. Memorials in her name may be made to The Salvation Army. Please share your condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Donna was born June 19, 1947, in Davenport, IA, to Clarence and Laurine (Dunn) Wilson. She was united in marriage to Larry Nelson on October 27, 1973, in Davenport, IA. Larry preceded her in death on September 4, 2024.
Donna was a longtime member of the Davenport Amateur Radio Club, an avid booster of Davenport West High School, enjoyed traveling and camping, followed NASCAR, and her cats held a special place in her heart. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving Donna is her son, Dale (Amanda) Nelson, Port Orchard, WA; grandchildren, Andrew (Veronica) Nelson, Ariah (Indigo) Brightside, Ariel Nelson-White and Alexander Nelson; great-grandchildren, Christian, Emery and Violet; brother, Steve Wilson, Torrington, CT; and good friend, Bob Brown.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Larry.

Donna Kay was such a sweetheart, as i am her cousin and my memories of her when i was young was always fun times when they would come to Mt Moriah and Mercer, MO to see family. Prayers for all. May the memories get you through the days ahead.
