William Roberts Obituary

William R. Roberts, a proud veteran, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Loma Linda, California, at the age of 78. Born on July 4, 1947, in Indio, California, William lived a life marked by strength, service, and unconditional love.

He was the cherished son of Amos Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Roberts, and the devoted husband of Rosalina Vicky Roberts, with whom he shared many years of partnership and dedication.

He is survived by his sons Daniel Roberts and David Roberts, who carry on his name and legacy. In addition, he is lovingly remembered by four daughters-Tara Hollands, Shanice Fontae, Alicia Dean, and Tina Wiscowiche-who were blessed to call him a father. William's legacy lives on through his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory.

A Vietnam War veteran, William was drafted into the United States Army, where he served on the ground as an Infantryman (11B20 Light Weapons). He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private (PVT) and was the recipient of multiple military honors, including:
- Two Purple Hearts
- One Air Medal
- National Defense Service Medal
- Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star

William was preceded in death by his brothers Danny Ray Roberts and Joyce Faye Carter, and his sister Bonita Jo Hill.

He is survived by his brothers: Amos Roberts Jr., Raymond Eugene Roberts, Kenneth Wayne Roberts, and Monty Karl Roberts, and his sisters: Gloria Pitchford, Annell Ruth Elmore, and Donna Ann Roberts.

William was known for his persistent and unfiltered sense of humor. He had an unmatched ability to make people laugh-often at the most unexpected times. Whether a moment was lighthearted or serious, he didn't discriminate; he joked about everything with no remorse. It was his way of connecting with people, and anyone who knew him can tell you: if William was around, you were going to laugh-whether you were ready for it or not.

He was a man of deep love, wisdom, and integrity-a protector at heart. He worked hard to provide for his family, never missing a holiday, a first day of school, or a special event. He embraced his role in the home with devotion and ensured that his loved ones were cared for emotionally, spiritually, and practically. Whether it was cooking a big meal, showing up for a milestone, or simply being present in daily life, William led with loyalty and heart.

William was a phenomenal cook who somehow made every meal feel special, even when it was made from leftovers. He loved music and often sang his heart out. Though he was tough when he needed to be, those closest to him knew his gentleness, his thoughtful quiet moments, and his love of sipping coffee and watching the morning news. He was always a light in a dark room.

He was a hero, a protector, a jokester-but best of all, he was a father.
