William Robichaud Obituary

William H. Robichaud, 88, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. William was born on July 27, 1937. He was the son of the late Rene and Marion (Farley) Robichaud. Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Claire (Messineo) Robichaud, to whom he had been married for 65 years.

A lifelong resident of Methuen, he built his home for his family in the neighborhood where he grew up. William was self-employed for many years as a general contractor for McDonald's Corporation. Once retired, you could find him puttering about in his garage with his tools and working on his Bobcat and backhoe.

Bill was a family man who never said "no" to anything that was asked of him, and he never complained. He never missed his granddaughters' dance recitals, birthdays, or graduations. He gladly shared in trips with them to Canobie Lake, Disney World, and the Polar Express.

He especially enjoyed his cruises to Alaska and Greece and large family trips to Hawaii and Sicily. He also spent time at his beach house in Seabrook Beach, NH, with family.

William leaves his son, William D. Robichaud, and daughter-in-law, Diane Robichaud of Salem, NH. Daughter Susan J. Regan and son-in-law Thomas Regan of Methuen, MA, and three granddaughters, Taylor Robichaud, Brooklyn, and Tess Regan, all of whom had a very special relationship with him as their Papa.

He is predeceased by his brothers, Rene and Daniel, and brothers-in-law Randolph A. Messineo and John T. Hallswoth. He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Lucas and Lillian D'Arezzo, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many close friends who he considered part of his family.

We were all so lucky to have such a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Monica's Church, 212 Lawrence St, Methuen, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private.
