William Thurman Robson, Jr., 81, passed on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his residence in Staunton.
He was born on January 30, 1943, a son of the late William Thurman, Sr. and Gertrude Cushing Larner Robson.
Mr. Robson taught elementary school for 35 years. He was an advocate for children, a gardener, an actor with the Waynesboro Players for many years, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Bill was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, sober for 42 years, who helped countless people. Bill will be remembered as a beacon of generosity and one who showed kindness to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
In addition to his devoted wife of many years, Teresa Ann Hammer Robson, he is survived by his son, William "Beau" Thurman Robson, III, and his sister, Gertrude Lyne Robson Parr.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Cushing Robson Cooney.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton with the Reverend William "AJ" Heine officiating.
As was Bill’s request, there will be no public viewing or visitation.
