William H. Rush, 77, of Chartiers Township, died Monday, September 5, 2022, in the Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born August 22, 1945, in Canonsburg, the son of William C. and Ethel Whiteman Rush.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as a Medical Corpsman from October 1965 to October 1967.
Mr. Rush was a member of Labor Local #373 in Pittsburgh and worked for Mascaro Construction for many years. Following his retirement from Mascaro, he drove school van for GG&C Bus Co. in Washington.
Bill was a member of the Washington Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On August 29, 1968, he married Cheryl Ford who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Rochelle L. Heider (David) and William S. Rush, both of Washington, and Dani R. Knight (John) of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Logan, Isiah, Dylan and Kailee; and two great-grand- children, Carson and Serenity.
Two sisters died in infancy.
Friends will be received 1 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Friday, September 9, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
