William A. Sanders

The world lost a gentle soul on February 1, 2025. William Alan Sanders was born on February 21, 1951 in Williamsport, PA to William Leonard Sanders and Evelyn Hinkle Sanders.
Bill spent his childhood in Williamsport, PA and graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 1969. Bill graduated from Susquehanna University in 1973 with a degree in finance. He was involved in banking for 40 years starting with Girard Bank in Philadelphia and ending his career as an SVP with PNC Bank in 2011. During his tenure with PNC he was a board member of the National Adoption Center in Philadelphia.
Bill was a true homebody; he loved working in the yard and in 1999 he received the beautification award for his home in Wayne, PA. Bill loved all water sports, he was an expert kayaker and sailor. He was also an avid golfer as he grew up playing golf with his Dad.He looked forward to visiting Mountainview Lake in NH during the summers and spending time on the water and with family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathleen N. Sanders, daughter, Melissa Pennachi, two granddaughters Francesca and Juliette. In addition, his brother, James Sanders of Kalamazoo, MI, and his daughter, Jamie Sanders; his sister Carol Waye (Tom) of Denver, CO and her son, Steven Waye of Denver, CO and daughter, Emily Dalton of Austin TX and many good friends.
A private funeral service will be held at Country House, Wilmington DE. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Country House where Bill spent the last two years of his life.
