William Schram Obituary

WILLIAM LEROY SCHRAM
November 25, 1953 ˜ July 29, 2023

William Leroy Schram was born Nov. 25, 1953, to Charles and Elma Schram.
He attended Arnada and Hough Elementary schools, then Shumway Junior High. He graduated with honors from Fort Vancouver High School and he was in the first graduating class at the new school in 1971. He attended Clark College and graduated with an associates degree. He went into the Air Force for 10 months. He studied Vietnamese to be an interpreter. He took the option to be honorably discharged when the Air Force had too many interpreters. He then used his GI Bill to attend Linfield College where he graduated with a degree in business and home economics. Bill’s job took him in the direction of clothing design in California. He was a pattern maker at Mr. California where he had his own line of men’s shirts. He then made a career change to be a medical transcriber. He worked as an administrative assistant for UCLA Medical Center and Santa Monica Hospital. He met many celebrities at his work. While in California, he became interested in metaphysics and Buddhism. He retired and moved back to Vancouver in 2020. He passed away July 29, 2023, from lung cancer. He would want to be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, affection and good listener. He had a creative mind. His mind was sharp until the end. His memory was so sharp, he was an excellent trivia player. His passing was quick and peaceful. He is survived by his brother, Charles (Marty) Schram; sister, Terresa (Terri) Schram; sister-in-law, Betty Schram; niece, Christa Schwerzler; great-nephew, Brendan Nuzum; and great-niece, Cassidy Schwerzler.
Bill would appreciate any donations made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
