WILLIAM JOSEPH (BILL) SCRUBY, age seventy-five of Lebanon, Missouri, was born August 27, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born to Joe and Nelda (Marsh) Scruby and passed away July 29, 2023, at his home in Lebanon, Missouri.
Bill was born and raised in Kansas City. He worked for In a Tub, the Katy Railroad, and drove a truck for Tasty Bread.
He and Margaret moved to Lebanon in 1986 so they could be closer to his favorite fishing hole, and he drove a truck for Tracker Marine here. He was a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, Odd Fellows and Masonic Lodge, and also a member of Holt Baptist Church. Bill also was a volunteer firefighter with Bennett Springs Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and reading Louis L'amour novels. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; son Samuel Scruby and wife Rhonda of St. Robert; five grandchildren: Terrick Scruby, Jesse Lofton and wife Maddie, Travis Malone and wife Morgan, Chris Malone, and Jamie Dumas; five great grandchildren: Emily Malone and husband Jaden, Nathaniel Dumas, Kaden Dumas, Remington Lofton, and Ray Lee Malone; two brothers: Mike Scruby and wife Jill, and Tom Scruby; and three nieces, other family and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, fun-loving grandfather, cherished brother and loyal friend. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials have been suggested to the family of Bill Scruby to help with funeral expenses.
