William “Bill” Oscar Siglin was born on November 10, 1946, to Wayne and Jeannette (Schlensig) Siglin at home near Dunlap, Iowa. He grew up northwest of Dunlap and graduated from Charter Oak High School in 1965. Bill started working at IBP then was drafted into the Army. On July 12, 1969, Bill married Mary Ann Summerfield at the Congregational Church in Dunlap. After his discharge he went back to work at IBP until he got his job at WIPCO in Denison as a lineman. He retired after 40 years at WIPCO.
Bill enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and spending time soaking up the great outdoors. He liked socializing with friends over a good drink and conversation. Bill especially loved spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids.
Bill died on September 9, 2025, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa at the age of 78 years, nine months and 30 days.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Aaron Siglin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Denison, Iowa; daughter, Jeanne and her husband Kevin Bueltel of Breda, Iowa; son, Joseph Siglin and his wife Misty of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Colten (Jessica) Bueltel, Clayton (Tiffany) Buetel, Misty Rose Naberhaus, Madison (Nick Agostino) Siglin, Will (Camden) Holderness-Siglin, Rachel (Alex Mainor) Siglin; seven great grandchildren, Jayson, Elijah, Ella Rose, Ezra, Lillith, Sylas and Mila; sister, Anita and her husband Cliff Allmon of Woodbine, Iowa; brother, Doyle Siglin of Dow City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
