William C. Sleeth
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 26, 2025 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Janice (nee Modjeski) for 57 years. Loving dad of Andy (Beth), Angel Pearce, Annette, and Alan (Dani). Proud Grandpa of Travis, Casey, Devin, Kailey, Jenna, and Aprielle. Caring brother of Alice, Shirley, Linda (Bill) and Sylvia. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bill was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Son, and Loyal Friend. He grew up on a farm and always helped with the chores. You could always count on him to help you and go the extra mile. He would give the shirt off his back and not expect anything in return. He was always thoughtful, nonjudgmental, caring, and spoiled his wife all the time.
When he was in high school, he never missed a day of school, so they gave him recognition with a merit on his diploma. Bill began to cook and make lots of get-togethers very tasty. He would make chilli, goulash, hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill, and the best boxed cakes for all occasions. He would help out at all our family reunions setting up and cleaning up too.
He worked lots of jobs as a young man like planting for a farmer, throwing bales of hay, bagging groceries at Ola's, and making manholes for the highway. Then when he was getting married, he started to work at Emerson/Appleton Electric and worked there for 47 years. After he retired, he would visit foundry friends to keep them updated on each other and went to Wilson Center to work out and make new friends. In the end CANCER took him from Us!
Visitation will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church (800 Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee, WI 53172) on Friday May 16th from 9-10:45AM with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. In honor of William, his family requests that you wear your favorite flannel shirt.
