Michael J Sleeth age 76 went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2026 after suffering daily for 10 years with long going illnesses. He is no longer suffering and now has the quality of life that he cherished.
Mike requested that he be cremated and not have a visitation. We will have a private family service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mike is the son of the late Joel and Leta Barnes Sleeth and was born on May 18, 1949 in Spokane Washington. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane where he was very active in all sports and earned a college baseball scholarship. He later served his country as a Vietnam veteran and received many honors including two Bronze Stars. Upon his return from overseas, he was assigned to Fort Hood Texas. While stationed in Killeen, he met his wife, Patricia Hunt. They married On October 8, 1971.
Mike was a devoted father and grandfather. He was always quick to give “Life Lessons”. Because of this, he raised 2 responsible children who are successful independent young adults.
Mike spent 33 years in law enforcement in Bell County and retired in May 2008. His final duty was Police Chief in Belton Texas. He loved his work serving his community/peers and always strived to bring out the best in those around him. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement prior to it being cut short due to years of health issues.
