William D. "Bill" Smith of Pleasureville, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the age of 85. William was born on December 15, 1939 in Louisville, KY. He was the oldest of three kids born to Sterling Harold and Nora (Priddy) Smith. He joined the Marine CORPS after graduating high school. He spent his life as a Union iron worker, local No. 70. He enjoyed karaoke, race cars and motorcycles.
William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol "Joyce" (Harper) Smith, one son; Terry B. (Brenda) Smith, one daughter; Carrie M. Smith (Bill Jordan), all of Henry County, one sister; Tammy (Steve) Smithson of Eminence, KY, five grandchildren; Kristy (Zak) Yates, Tara (David) Woods, Bill (Whitney) Smith, Travis Glass and Chelsey Howell, 13 great-grandkids and three great-great grandkids and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Larry Harold Smith.
Visitation and funeral services for William will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home in Pleasureville, Kentucky. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Franklinton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Smith, David Woods, Zak Yates, Andrew Coomes, Sawyer Yates and Braxxtin Woods.
William Smith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
